Picaia is a gem of Azienda Agricola Bianchi, located in Arogno in the picturesque Canton Ticino. It is our youngest red wine: easy-drinking, fresh, and fruity. Thanks to our fellow Vignerons, we sourced part of the grapes from outside the canton, always BioSuisse certified. Our savoir-faire in the cellar was essential to preserving the quality and continuity of our work.

Always committed to loving and respecting nature, in 2023 we faced the consequences of its power, losing almost half of the harvest due to a violent hailstorm.

Grape variety: blend of red grapes and Merlot.

Vinification: partially carbonic fermentation to enhance fruity and fresh notes, with skin maceration for 9 days. This product is obtained respecting the principles of BioSuisse certified organic agriculture.

Geography: vineyards located mainly in the Mendrisiotto region.

Aromatic characteristics: intense ruby red wine. The nose expresses a wide fruity palette, particularly strawberry and cherry. In the mouth, it is elegant and easy-drinking, accompanied by good freshness and distinct fruity notes appreciated on the nose. A fresh and approachable wine.

Pairing: the versatility of this wine allows it to be paired with various dishes. Ideal to accompany appetizers based on cold cuts, first courses such as risotto, and grilled red meats.

Optimal service temperature: 17-19°C

Storage: store in a cool, dry place, away from light.

Consumption: ideal if consumed within 2 years
